I saw a band live and thought they were awesome–told all my friends. Saw them again while sober and came to the conclusion that my dog that’s not quite housebroken has more talent than that band.
*hangs head in shame*
My friends wont let me make suggestions about where to go anymore.

p.s. I think it is good for people with drinking problems and responsible drinkers to leave posts in their forum, it supports a good cause…(okay, off the soap box, I apologize)

Currently, there are four main theories relating to the cause of alcoholism; the biological, psychological, sociological, and social learning models. I believe that most of these theories do play a role in alcoholism. However, they mostly occur as a result of the addiction or in conjunction with it, rather than the direct fundamental cause of it! These theories represent the current views regarding alcoholism that are coveted by the medical community. Bear in mind, these are only theories, and none of them have been conclusively proven to be the cause of alcoholism.
The biological theory suggests that alcoholics have a biological abnormality that causes them to become addicted. The theory suggests that certain individuals are genetically predisposed to addiction by a faulty gene or perhaps a chemical imbalance in the brain, which renders addiction an incurable disease!

I’ve been anxious since I was a child, I have been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder but I am not seeking therapy for it now. What are alternative therapies for it? And do poor habits like drinking too much alcohol make it worse?

Many overweight people are unhappy about their size, some may even be clinically depressed. Many people who are overweight or have other eating problems can use food to cope with emotional stress. It can become an addictive pattern just like an alcoholic drinks alcohol to relieve stress. It is a vicious cycle of overeating and feeling bad about it and doing it again. There are varying degrees of this type of behavior. Some compulsive overeaters can be diagnosed with an eating disorder and need professional help.
We cannot claim a bad diet causes depression, but several studies have been linked your mood and what you eat. Some overweight people may turn to extreme fad dieting to try and lose weight quickly. Fad diets why are they bad is because the dieter is usually unsuccessful in a permanent weight loss. If you have a lot of weight to lose, extreme dieting for any length of time can cause a toll on the body. You may become deficient in certain vitamins and minerals that are related to depression.

Learn how to differentiate between types of depression, signs, causes and treatment. This is the first step toward understanding depression, getting the appropriate treatment and taking that step.
Alcohol Depression
As the name implies, alcohol depression is the lows that follow periods of excessive drinking. Guilt, remorse, and shame play a huge part in this type of depression, and nothing short of a long period of sobriety can begin the alleviate it. With alcohol depression, the normal hangover is much more than not feeling well.
Anxiety Depression
Anxiety depression oftentimes is indicated by profuse sweating, shaky hands and voice. Persons suffering from anxiety disorder are generally pessimistic, always expecting the worse. They also tend to go through long periods of time where they are afraid to leave their homes or participate in social activities.

Manic depression or as it is also known Bipolar Disorder is a mental illness that causes the sufferer to have rapid shifts in mood of such a magnitude to affect an individuals normal functioning.
The symptoms of manic depression are quite wide ranging. They normally include large mood swings, ranging from an extreme high, occasionally with irritability, to an extremely low and hopeless mood and back again. In between these two poles of mood are periods of normal mood. As a ratio, the low and depressive mood is most common at a ratio of 3 to 1 manic, or high, mood.
