Can the pill cause depression?
I’ve really had the blues lately. I’m starting my second pack of pills, after having a baby a year ago. There are plenty of things in my life that could be causing mild depression, but a friend thinks it could be the pill. I’ve been exercising, eating well, no alcohol, trying to get enough sleep, etc, and I can’t shake the blues.
Could it be the pill?
I’m on Femcon FE

A type of pill that I used to be on gave me very bad depression so I might try switching brands to see if it helps. Mention it to your doctor as well! Once I switched I felt much better! Good luck!
Well I don’t think it would be baby blues as you had your child a year ago. I know some pills can raise the hormones that can lead to you being unhappy, my pill can occassionally leave me feeling down and I’ve been on it for a year and a bit now. I’d recommend you change pills and see if you feel a bit happier.
If it’s not the case, you might just need some cheering up. If you think more positively about things, you go into things happier and people notice the fact you’re smiling and talk to you and be all happyyyy =D
If you’re still feeling down, I think you should go to your doctors and take a depression test, and I hope you feel better soon. I’m sure your beautiful baby has the best Mum possible =D
It very well could be. I was on YAZ and became incredibly depressed. I’m now on Loestrin 24 FE and it’s helped some with the mood swings/sad feelings. Ask your doc to change you to a different pill. Best wishes.
