[Malibu, CA] – Sunset Malibu, an elite treatment facility on the California coast, has long been a transformational force in the field of rehabilitation and recovery. Now, Sunset is announcing its redoubled efforts in helping clients heal in a private, dignified environment.

Addiction is a psychologically crippling disease. To succumb to substance abuse is to be stripped of one’s self-esteem, and one’s sense of self-control. The practical implication, of course, is that the best treatment facilities are those which help their clients learn to feel good about themselves again. In the end, there’s no better way to ensure the long-run success of the healing process. That emphasis on personal affirmation, in turn, lies at the core of Sunset Malibu’s treatment philosophy. With its world-class caregivers and elegant accommodations, Sunset Malibu is an unparalleled recovery destination. The center has always catered to upscale clients from every corner of the globe. Even clients with urges of depression suicide recover here. Now Sunset is renewing its commitment to its core values, with the goal of delivering ennobling and empowering care to individuals who seek it. At Sunset Malibu, the client’s psyche always comes first. “Our clients typically come us to with severe emotional issues,” said Sunset Malibu owner Richard Taite. “We understand that physical health must be built upon mental health, which is why we employ special dual-diagnosis techniques to assess substance dependency in conjunction with psychiatric distress. It’s also, we believe, why we have such an outstanding record of clinical success.”Unfortunately, Sunset’s competitors can’t say the same thing about their own treatment efforts. Every rehab center claims to care about the psychological health of its clients. But very few of them prove that conviction by their actions. The fact of the matter is that many of the most reputable treatment facilities in California offer severely inadequate emotional therapy to their residents. It should come as no surprise that those institutions routinely fail to help their clients achieve lasting recovery. Taite, for his part, suggests that those shortcomings are inexcusable. “It’s a documented fact that depression treatment and other forms of psychological counseling play a vital role in the addiction recovery process,” Taite said. “At Sunset Malibu, we put that knowledge to good use, because we believe that we owe nothing less than the best possible treatment to our clients. To do anything less would be to forsake the values on which were founded.”Addiction treatment is always a delicate process. To be successful, it has to be administered with competence and compassion, by people with a nuanced understanding of their work. The clinical psychologists and licensed clinical social workers at Sunset Malibu are leading figures in their respective fields. As Sunset’s successful graduates have already learned firsthand, there’s simply no substitute for that level of expertise. *Sunset Malibu is a luxury drug, alcohol, and depression treatment center located in Malibu, California. From depressive disorders, to drug rehabilitation, we focus on the clients and care about individual needs. Many patients who suffer from depression are a bit suspicious about natural depression treatment.

They think its smacks too much of alternative medicine and they are not sure about it. This is mainly because our mindset has been brainwashed into accepting a pharmacological and or psychiatric approach to this type of mental disorder. We have a blinkered approach but let us try and open our minds to other possibilities.

Many depressed patients take anti depressants (Paxil, Celeza, Luvox and Zoloft ) which is fine for most of them, although some may have trouble with the side effects. The problem is that many of these patients do not make any lifestyle changes at all and they begin to become addicted and dependant on the prescription drugs for depression. I know some friends who have been on these drugs for years. This is fine for the pharmaceutical companies but the patients themselves are not making any progress at all towards a definitive cure. This is simply because they have never looked at a natural depression treatment either as an adjunct to their medication or as a totally new approach to an alternative cure.

The darker side of this modern life style is the tremendous pressure and stress that is sometimes unbearable. And out of these pressure people are suffering from anxiety and frustration. This time the effect of recession has brought all these things of anxiety and depression in people’s mind that they are seeking the temporary escape from these problems by taking drugs and alcohol. Not only that the illegal drugs are the sources of this addiction but also it is often seen these days that people are getting addicted to prescription drugs also. This too is quite an alarming fact. Addiction to painkillers and prescription drug addiction are two new things with theirs fatal effects. But people are quite ignorant while taking these drugs and painkillers. In general this is called drug abuse. Any kind of drug abuse can be termed as drug addiction too as does not mean addicted to things like marijuana, heroine, cocaine etc. other drug addictions are like opiate addiction, xanex addiction.

The effects of all these types of drug addiction are both physical and mental. The particular person becomes gradually poorer and poorer day by day and he loses his concentration and patience. He becomes unstable and anxious and always wants to take drug or opium or painkillers or prescribed medicines. Thus the result of this drug addiction not only does a lot of harm to the individual only but also has quite an ill effect on his family and the society as a whole.

Also, how hard will it be to get the card? New York just passed a bill that will be legalizing medical marijuana. Also, does anyone have any idea what the stipulations will be?

I am diagnosed with ADHD and I heard that marijuana can be used as a treatment for it. I would rather take something more natural than go on something like Aderol and Stratera which has very aggravating side effects. I stopped taking Stratera because it was too annoying. Last year, I tried weed a couple of times over two weekends and I noticed a few things about myself. Although attention span is obviously very bad when you are high, the rest of the work week my concentration level was up significantly and my brain power increased as well.

There are so many lies out there about marijuana and it pisses me off. If you’re one of those people who believe what the pharmaceutical companies and federal government say about marijuana, please DO NOT comment on this! I do not care for any negative feed back.

How do you stay sober without AA?

How do you keep up sobriety without going to AA?
I have been sober six months now and currently live at a supported independent living center, a sober house. I am not dual diagnosed, they opened it up to people with just mental issues, but I do have a history of using alcohol at times to self medicate when I wasn’t on the right medications. I do get triggers at times to drink, when I smell alcohol at a restaurant. It’s only a slight feeling, a feeling like, ‘oh that was nice, it used to relax me,’ if that makes sense. I am committed to staying sober for life, but I have mixed issues about going to 12-step groups. Some people say they are necessary for sobriety, that since it is a disease it is impossible to stay sober without treatment in committing to a higher power. I believe however that there is choice involved with it, and don’t believe that I am totally helpless to a trigger or a craving, that they can be overcome with the right coping tools. I don’t hang out with people who abuse alcohol anymore and who have depression, I keep my boundaries clear. Honestly while there were times where I abused alcohol, I mostly did it to ‘fit in’ instead of my own cravings. When I did attend AA I didn’t relate to anyone there, and literally felt like I was lying when I said that I was an alcoholic…when they asked if I obsessed about it or had cravings for it I didn’t, and when they shared stories about going to rehabs and running away from them, and drinking bottles to themselves, I thought woah… I can’t relate. Even though I know it’s not always about how much you drink it’s the consequences, but I feel that it is different.

Anyway I’m just influenced by other people’s opinions, my therapist thinks that I am not dual diagnosed and don’t need AA–but the case manager here thinks I could benefit from it. I however feel like I would benefit more from Al-Anon because I have been more of an ‘enabler’ in my past, instead of the one abusing it more I’ve tried to save people and been co-dependent on people who were abusing it.

Mental Problem and Alcohol Addiction Treatment

If you are worried about your drinking or a friend’s drinking, tell them – they need to make changes as soon as possible. It is much easier to cut back before drinking problems damage your health than it is once they are out of hand.

First steps: Keep a diary of your drinking – you may be surprised by how much you really do drink, and this can give you the motivation to cut down. It helps if you can talk your plans over with a friend or relative. Do not be ashamed to tell someone. Most real friends will be pleased to help – you may find they have been worried about you for some time.
