Im on Cipramil for anxiety but can I drink alcohol..?
Cipramil is the brand name for Citoplepram and its an anti-depressant but Im taking it for anxiety and panic attacks. Now every one says you shouldnt drink on anti depressants because alcohol is a depressant and it just cancels out the effects. But if Im taking it for anxiety will alcohol stop it from working for me? Im only on it a week so it hasnt kicked in yet but I dont want the alcohol to inhibit the drug in any way…

Yes, the alcohol will cause the anti-depressant to not work like it should.
Alcohol is a Toxin AND and a depressant.
There are many reasons why they should not
be mixed. One being the terrible negative effects
of your organs. Anti-depressants are hard on your liver (in long term) and kidneys and so is alcohol.
That is why you feel terrible after you drink a bunch.
If you are trying to feel better and you are taking anti -depressants then
it doesnt make much sense to drink alcohol, especially on a regular basis.
You might enjoy a drink or two from time to time without the negative side effects but
common sense should lead you to understand that depressants AND antidepressants are not to be mixed.
