Is it psychology?
I am very interested in learning about this.. I was just looking up melatonin and seasonal depression (cause I was interested.) What major would this be in college? I dont really like biology too much (like the details bore me), but I like WHY what kind of effects drugs/alcohol have on us RATHEr than what all caused it in the body

I know it’s a horrible idea to mix alcohol and any medication, especially anti-anxiety meds and anti-depressants. I also know that everyone is different and people react differently. But I was just wondering if you know of any anti-anxiety meds/anti depressants that are not as horrible to mix with alcohol.

Alcohol is a stimulant which addicts often resort to help them get over some form of depression or problems, like break up from relationships or marriage, loss of loved ones, job loss, etc alcohol here is seen as the solution to forgetting these problems and situations. Addicts always want to have their ways in any given issue or matter even when they are wrong. These are signs of an alcohol abuse effects.
The consumption of alcoholic beverages is for many a relaxing and enjoyable pastime. There are many social gatherings where drinks are served and everyone has fun socializing and sharing the time together. Sometimes there are those with a predisposition to alcohol abuse and these people gradually develop a dependence on the substance. Those who are victims of alcohol abuse cannot control the urge to drink.

Does anyone know, specifically, the effects of drugs/alcohol on the prefrontal lobe? I have heard that drugs/alcohol destroy the conscience and that is why addicts lose their ability to feel empathy or guilt and ultimately the distinction between right and wrong.

does anyone know about alcohol detox and the side effects it has on the body. and what happens after they have left the clinic, will it be stessfull to come straight back home with 3 young children, ways of coping with living with someone after alcohol detox come on somebody must have gone through the same as iam going through at the moment. thanks

The physical effects of alcohol abuse can be experienced with as little as one or two drinks. Impaired judgment and coordination needed to operate a car safely may result in the drinker having an accident.
Alcoholism is an illness where alcoholic beverage consumption is at a level that interferes with physical or mental health, and negatively impacts social, family or occupational responsibilities. Alcohol abusers are drinkers that may drink excessively at various times with resulting immediate alcohol abuse effects at the time of excess alcohol consumption.

You can take painkillers and the rest to fix the sore head and the rest, but is there anything that cures the anixious spacey feeling the next day, the feeling of uneasy and general grumpiness accompanied with mild depression, and if I’ve had a big night I end up panicky. So apart from not drinking is there a cure for a mental hangover?
