Our world is awash with a wave of tension that seems to infect every single one of us. Have you driven down the street lately, only to find someone abusing you because you are not doing 30 kilometers over the speed limit? Have you been cursed by a beggar because you have not given them a cigarette? Have you been robbed lately, simply because the person robbing you wanted your LCD projector? Have you parked your car in the local supermarket car park only to find that someone has pushed a trolley down the side of your car? Did the boss come in this morning and yell at you because he did not get enough sleep last night? Has a customer rung you and called you all the names under the sun simply because you did not respond to an email within 5 minutes of sending it?

‘She drove me to drink’ used to be a popular phrase. Its essential meaning is that stress induces people to consume alcohol. While it’s true that stress can be an incentive to drink, it’s equally true that heavy alcohol consumption causes stress.
Moderate alcohol intake, to be sure, can have beneficial effects. Research suggests that small amounts can even improve mental functioning and increase performance in problem solving while stressed. But, there are also studies that demonstrate that large quantities, particularly when consumed for long periods, actually worsens stress.

Many of us have problems with stress and this can sometimes lead to the misuse of alcohol.
If you have a situation that has led you to abusing alcohol and need some ideas to reduce the stress while avoiding using alcohol, Parts One and Two of this article may help.
A little bit of stress is good but too much stress is not. Sometimes we are so stressed out we turn to alcohol and at some point may realize we are having a problem with the overuse of it.

Lately, just the past 6 month or so ive been experiencing blackouts after drinking Red Wine. Ive never had this happen to me before and its beggining to frighten me! Ive been under alot of stress these days and wondering if mabye that could be playing a big part in these blackouts! Its strange cause while blacked out I can still carry conversations and walk around normally! I am scared to even drink a drop anymore.

Can excessive alcohol consumption and stress cause pain in elbow joints?? i been drinking alot and i suddenly got pain in my elbow joint….im going to quit or lessen my consumption but was wonderin if the cause of pain can be from this reason?
I’m only 22 years old it can’t be arthritis
