what are the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal?

i think im experiencing some. has anyone else experienced this? what can i do about it
im shaking and feel anxiety. i usually never feel like that.

I have been drinking vodka heavy for 2 years. I stopped this habit yesterday, but I’m having very annoying symptoms. My hands are shaking, I’m nauseous, light-headed, and had cold sweats all night. Also kept waking up with a feeling that something was crawling on my body. Also bruise way too easily. How long can I expect this to go on? When does it start getting better? Any personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I had drink a plenty of red wine every night for a year? Then I day I stoped and suddenly the second day I started to have insomnia. Almost 3 months. I try valerian and melatonin only sometimes works. Now I still don’t know the reason that I can’t sleep well because when I don’t need to work next day I sleep better. Maybe job stress.
Don’t say to me I need 18 months to recover.

3 blackouts in the week. Severe intoxication the other 4 days.
I’m not trying to prove a thing. I had the shakes and was cold sweating last night after a week-long binge and I was worried.

Can withdrawal from alcohol cause depression?

Is there something I can take that will help prevent a seizure while trying to stop drinking? I have stopped in the past and had a seizure. I am shaking badly and I make a drink to stop it before I have a seizure. I am not going to the hospital, I want to do this at home,

Don’t doctors prescribe benzodiazapines or vicodine to ease the pain and suffering? And can I get some if I go to the hospital or free clinic?

my best friend is trying to quit. i don’t wanna see him die.
he’s throwing up just cuz he hasn’t had a beer since last night.
it’s only barely the afternoon.
his heart hurts and he feels weak.

is there anything i can do to help?
water
food
something?

anything but rehab?

It is very true that a shot, or a beer can help a hangover the morning after a night of excessive alcohol consumption. Seems to me like the reason for this is, if it wasn’t a (although mild) withdrawal it wouldn’t be relieving. Feedback?

I have been drinking about 1/2 to 1 bottle (a fifth) of rum everyday for months now. I am qutting today and the doctor gave me ativan for the withdrawl symptoms but I am still nervous and anxious. How long can I expect the symptoms to last? I have not been vomiting but I am a little shaky and have diarhhea. I had my last drink at 9PM EST last night. I already know about AA and am going to that too, but I just want to know how long I can expect to be physically ill and when I should stop taking the ativan. Thanks.
