I am on prozac and wellbutrin. I drink. It makes me get drunk faster. But, it increases the chances of having a seizure with wellbutrin. Also, drinking is a depressant. It screws up your medications effect. If you wanna get better don’t drink.
think anna nicole smith and her son.oooooops.
You are depressed, so you are given anti-depressants (a stimulant.) Then, you drink alcohol, which is a depressant, and probably smoke dope-a depressant, and smoke cigarettes-a depressant.
Yeah, you are paying money to use drugs that interfere and reverse your prescription meds.
It can KILL YOU! It can make the prescription work less or more than it should. Do you know? I don’t know how it will affect YOU. Doctors do, that is why they tell you not to drink.
Anyone on anti-depressants have no business drinking or smoking anything.
But you will do what you want, so you want to make me your beneficiary? I will love living in France on your nickel.
Depression medications contribute to weight gain, ect. and should be a temporary fix to sort out the problem to conquer depression. All of us will experience depression in our life time one way or another through the death of a loved one ect. All medicines have side effects and can be dangerous. They stay in our bodies for years. Alcohol effects are intensified and drowsiness can occur. Depending on the amounts you could comatose, have a seizure and die. Small amounts won,t kill you but that doesn,t mean it,s harmless.
Alcohol is a “depressant,” but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it triggers depression, or that it works in a way that is opposite from an anti-depressant medication. It is considered a depressant because it reduces the efficiency of function in parts of the brain. Anti-depressant medication, that is medication that is given to treat the condition known as depression, works in a number of ways, depending on the kind of medication. Some kinds of antidepressants are not well understood to begin with, so it is hard to say exactly how they will affect someone who is also using alcohol.
Anecdotes from people who have used alcohol while on various anti-depressant medications have suggested that the medication can be less effective, or the effects of the alcohol can be more pronounced.
