Why is my alcohol detox lasting so long?
This is my first question.
I realize I am a rare case, so there is no need to point that out.
I am almost 25 and recently quit drinking. I was a cronic drinker for the last 7+ years. I have not drank in 36 days (but who’s counting). It was very hard the first 2 weeks and I finally feel like I am not dying. But, I still have no energy and wake up with night sweats every night. Last week my body erupted in break outs and I have never broken out before. Other things have happened, my period was so intence with pain I was crying, and I have missed work with headaches. This was also last week. My question is, why am I still dealing with this? Could it be other issues besides detox? Can I speed it up?
Just a little more back ground, I also quit doing cocain at the same time. I was doing a lot everyday and had been for several months straight.
Also, I have been dealing with serious eating issues since I was at least 16. But since 20 at least I have thrown up everyday at least once. This I am also trying to quit. For a year or more all I consumed was alcohol. Just admiting this to myself is a huge shock and this new found reality is crazier than any high. Please no insults. I have had a DUI, torn apart relationships, totaled my car and almost died, all years apart. I have finally stopped. Can anyone tell me if it is normal I am still detoxing? Or what I can do to help it along?
Thank you.

yea alcohol detox is quite intense, and it can kill you. Cocaine do sent really give you a withdraw, its more like boredom and headaches. have you had seizures? it is not realy uncomon to have a long withdrawl. benzodiazapines are similar in action to alcohol and the withdrawl lasts about a year. i wouldnt think its withdrawl, probaly depression. if you didnt have seizures or hallucinate than you didnt have it too bad, so it shoulnt last longer than 2-3 weeks
i use heroin and meth alot and the withdrawl from that is realy nasty too. i get convusions and puke my guts out for a week, and you get like a realy intense pain in your bones for some reason. its about the most painful thing ive ever felt by far. meth dosent give you a withdrawl you just realy want to do it.
